About Us
I've been a musician, guitar teacher, college music teacher and professional musician since I graduated Guitar Institute, West London, in 1996. I have worked as a guitarist with some big names in the UK, including Pet Shop Boys, Four Tops, Toyah Wilcox, Boney M, Channel 4/TFI Friday/Ginger Productions, Bradley Walsh, Audioweb, Karen Ramirez, and have gigged and toured all over the world. I decided in 2026 to launch UnderThreeHundred in response to a growing awareness that there isn't a 'go to' market place for musicians wanting lower cost equipment, with safe online transactions, decent shipping options, and flexible payment options. I don't think we recycle the fantastic musical instruments and gear around us a fraction of the amount that we should, and I myself rarely buy new, preferring instruments that I know have been loved and looked after. To date I have a '71 Telecaster all original w/rosewood board, an R8 1958 reissue Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul in figured bourbon burst, and a 2000 Deluxe Players strat, all of which have been previously loved by other musicians!
A Bit about the process....
When I look for guitars and kit to add to our inventory, I use my years of experience to search for instruments and peripherals which I really like the look of and would want to own myself! I focus on quality, value, aesthetic, and reliability/condition. For The Reserve Collection instruments and peripherals I really spend my time to find pieces which really shine, which I like to bring to you in a well photographed, well described and researched package; once I have chosen them, I put each piece through a rigorous inspection, including a service, deep clean and rebuild; if there are issues I use a fantastic repairer to do my work for me. Finally, once reassempled and looking beautiful, I tend to purchase any final periphals such as cases or gig bags if they are missing - I pass these to you at cost but I'm not keen on any of my guitars/basses leaving without a protective cover or case. The last part is to cycle through playing the instruments for at least a full day to ensure playability and to mitigate any issues. Finally, new strings go on (D'addario or Ernie Ball) and it goes to our store room to await purchase and shipping to its new owner! All purchases are boxed carefully and with plenty of padding and bubble wrap!
Welcome, then, to my market place - which will hopefully become your market place; for a small seller fee of 8% (please ensure you read my terms and conditions under the 'HOW IT WORKS' section and become familiar with the few simple rules), you can support to keep this buying and selling channel available, as long as the most important components of the venture, buyers and sellers, use the resource and check in from time to time!
I have a few new features which will be coming online as we warm the engine ready for business; down the line I'd like a 'boutique' mini store integrated to allow for the selling and purchasing of more expensive equipment from featured sellers (edit - this is already in place!); I would like a 'coffee break' section with information about the UnderThreeHundred community of buyers ad sellers, with some high quality product discounts (such as decent coffee and micro brewery beer!), deals and featured instruments of the day. Video demos, guitar of the week, and much more!
Anyway, thanks for reading and I do hope that UnderThreeHundred becomes a household brand for musicians, allowing for simpler completely safe transactions.
Best wishes, Dan
